Empty and Visible: The Most Important Bin Cleaning Policy at The Bin Spa
At The Bin Spa, we take a TON of pride in what we do.
We’ve built our company on five-star service, strong systems, great people, and consistent results. We’ve worked hard to create efficient routes that allow us to serve hundreds of homes across our community while keeping our pricing fair and our quality high.
There’s just one policy that causes the most confusion and issues, so today we’re going to clear it up once and for all.
Our most important rule is simple:
We clean all trash bins that are left empty and visible.
That’s it. Empty and visible.
If your bins are empty and visible when we arrive, we are going to clean them.
How Our Bin Cleaning Policy Works:
When our technician pulls up to your home, the first thing they do is park safely and look for all bins that are empty and visible from the road or driveway. Any bin that is empty and clearly visible will be cleaned.
Our standard pricing includes up to two bins. Whether you have one bin or two, the price is the same. Additional bins beyond that are cleaned for a small additional fee.
Some homes have different trash and recycling schedules. Maybe your trash was picked up, but your recycling wasn’t. Maybe one bin is at the curb and another is up by the garage. That’s completely fine.
If it’s empty and visible, we clean it.
Why We Clean All Empty and Visible Bins
Most of our customers want all their bins cleaned when we come out. This is a luxury home service. If we’re already there, they want their garage smelling fresh, their bins sanitized, and everything maggot-free and spotless.
We try to go above and beyond. Many bin cleaning companies require you to leave bins strictly at the curb and they leave them there when they’re done. We don’t operate that way. We’ll walk up and retrieve your bins from the top of the driveway, clean them thoroughly, and return them neatly when we’re finished.
We want to deliver a premium service. Part of doing that is keeping things simple and consistent.
Why Bins Must Be Empty
We send three reminders before every service — one email a week before, then a text and email the day before. All of them clearly state that bins must be empty and visible.
If a bin is not empty, we cannot clean it.
We are not a trash collection company. We don’t have the authority to remove trash, and our trucks are not designed to haul garbage. Occasionally, if there’s a single loose bag or small box, our team may help out, but that is the exception — not the rule.
Our systems are built for washing and sanitizing bins, not transporting waste. If trash goes into our equipment, it can clog the system and disrupt service for the entire route.
That’s why we schedule service for the day after your trash pickup and start early, so you can get your bins back as quickly as possible.
If one bin is empty and the other is not, we will clean the empty bin and charge for the service. Since our pricing includes up to two bins, it’s always in your best interest to leave both empty if you want both cleaned.
What If You Don’t Want a Certain Bin Cleaned?
We understand that sometimes a recycling bin may not need cleaning as often. That’s completely fine.
If you do not want a bin cleaned, simply do not leave it empty and visible.
You can also leave a sticky note on the lid that says “Do Not Clean” or place a clear marking like a large X on the lid for that day. Our technicians will respect it.
If a bin is stored in your garage or backyard, we will not retrieve it. For liability reasons, we do not enter backyards.
As we’ve grown and acquired companies like Ohana Bin Wash, Southern Can Cleaners, CMAX, and now CANCO, we’ve welcomed many new customers. We understand that policies may have been handled differently in the past. Some technicians may have memorized individual preferences on a route.
But as we grow, we must operate on standardized systems that work for every home, every technician, every time. That’s how we remain consistent, reliable, and sustainable as a business.
How to Have a Perfect Service Day
If you want to help our team deliver the best possible service:
Leave all bins empty and visible on your driveway or curb before your scheduled service day.
In a perfect world, placing them near the curb makes things even smoother for our technicians. Don’t worry — we’ll still return them neatly when we’re finished.
We are proud to offer a luxury trash bin cleaning service to our community. In order to keep routes efficient, pricing fair, and service quality high, we need this one simple rule to stay consistent:
If it’s empty and visible, we clean it.
If it’s not empty and visible, we don’t.
We appreciate you working with us, and we’re grateful to serve you.
