Bin Cleaning FAQs

Why do I need someone to clean my trash bins?

The last time I tried to clean my bin at my house, I got a face full of nasty trash water. I was so angry. It’s gross, so most people just ignore the nastiness and live with dirty bins. You don’t have to live with it anymore. There’s also the question of what you do with the dirty water. You’re not supposed to let the runoff from cleaning your trash bins go into the city storm sewers. In fact, it’s illegal in most cities. We capture the gray water and dispose of it properly.

How often should I clean my cans?

This is not a one-size-fits-all question. Families with dirty diapers, kitty litter, or baggies full of Fido’s droppings will likely want to clean the can more frequently. We recommend monthly(every 4 weeks) service for those families. For people in a HOA that requires your bins to be kept in your garage, we also recommend monthly service. Who wants stinky bins inside of their house? If you’re not sure, we recommend you start with quarterly service. You can always move to more frequent service at a later time.

Do I need to be home for your service?

Not at all. You just have to leave your bins empty and visible from the road and we will do the rest!

What time will you arrive exactly?

Similar to your waste management company, we do not have an exact time to expect us. We typically start our day around 7am, and can have anywhere from 10-50 jobs in a day. Our software will tell us the best route to take, and the timing depends on many internal and external factors. Good news is that you do not have to wait for us or be home at all, just leave your bins empty and visible and we will do the rest!

What are the terms?

Our policies are listed under our policy tab: thebinspa.com/policies. All customers agree to these policies when the sign up and click “I agree”. You are free to cancel your monthly or quarterly service at any time. That said, if you cancel your recurring service before you have had 3 services, we’ll bill you the difference of a one-time clean and what you have paid for service so far. So, if the one-time clean is $60 and you’ve paid $29 for service, we’ll bill you $31 to close your account.

Does this waste a lot of water?

No, in fact, our specialized truck is far more efficient at cleaning bins than an Average Joe with a garden hose. Not only that, but we then take the dirty water to be properly disposed of so that we can be environmentally friendly!

How do I know when I’m scheduled or when you’ve cleaned my cans?

We’ll send you an email a week before and the day before your cleaning to let you know we’re coming by. This will include some basic instructions to help us have a successful visit to your home or business. Customers not on autopay will receive an emailed invoice after our visit to let you know that we’ve completed the work at your home, and your bin will be left with a Bin Spa sticker!

Do you make separate trips for the garbage bin and the recycle bin?

No, we come out for service the day after trash day to service both bins. It can be a bit of a challenge to keep the recycle bin empty, and we’re always happy to move your service to help you out with that if you let us know ahead of time.

How long does your service take?

We clean to standard, not to time, so it depends. Typically, first time cleans can take anywhere from 5-15 minutes. Monthly and quaraterly cleanings after the first cleaning can take anywhere from 4-10 minutes. We invested into our highly specialized trucks that can complete an effective cleaning in no time at all, and our team is highly trained to be efficient. We promise you will be left with a disinfected, sanitized, and deodorized bin, and our efficient times allows us to service as much of the community as we can!

Will my bins be completely dry after the service?

The short answer is no. With texas weather, the outside of your bin will remain wet and will dry up in no time at all. The inside of the bin will not have standing water on the bottom. However, the sides of the can may be damp or have water droplets at the end of our service. This is on purpose and is designed to keep our deodoizer strong and effective, and clean water is more sterile than using old rags to wipe it down.

Don’t worry, any water that remains is from after we have already disinfected, sanitized, and deodorized your bins. Any water droplets left are clean as can be!

Power Washing FAQs

What services do you offer?

We offer full power washing, pressure washing, and soft washing services. This includes house washing, fleet washing, driveways, surfaces, patios, decks, fences, walkways, sheds, playgrounds, rust removal, and nearly anything else you can imagine with a power washing gun. Check out our power washing page for our services or give us a call or email to see if we can help service your needs!

What are your prices?

Every job is unique—we always offer free estimates on power washing services. Prices depend on many variables including: the type(s) of services, surface area size, service frequency, desired & necessary chemicals, and any packages and discounts that are available.

Scheduling an Estimate vs Scheduling Service?

Some jobs are much easier to give exact estimates than others. If you have a large job, we can schedule to come and do an in-person estimation prior to service. For standard houses and driveways, we can give an estimate over the phone. Once we arrive to your location, we will ensure that the estimate is still correct before asking for you signature and proceeding with your service.

Why, and how often, should I get my house or driveway cleaned?

This is not a one-size-fits-all question. Many businesses and residential homes get quarterly or annual soft washing services to ensure the sustainability of the building. Our soft washing techniques kill mold, mildew, and other grimes which can protect the integrity of the building over time. For many, surface washing and soft washing services are used primarily for aesthetic appeal; it makes your home or workspace clean and beautiful. Many residential homes request yearly surface cleanings, while many commercial locations require monthly or quarterly cleanings. There is no single answer, so give us a call and we can help determine how to best fit your needs!

Dumpster Cleaning FAQs

Why do I need my dumpster cleaned?

Great question—it depends. Not every dumpster needs to be cleaned. For many businesses such as restaurants and other food carrying vendors, having a clean dumpster is absolutely essential for the safety, health, and appeal of the business. For many businesses and apartment complexes, maintenance cleanings create a healthier environment for customers and tenants. For others, it may be a simple luxury service so that rats, insects, and unwanted smells are gone. A clean, sanitized, and disinfected dumpster may be a small service that makes a big impact on your business or your life!

When do you come to service my dumpster(s)?

We come out for service within three hours of your expected dumpster trash pickup. This is to ensure your dumpster is empty for us to clean, and so you do not have to wait long to use it. This buffer window ensures that we can account for delays in trash pickup. When scheduling dumpster cleanings, please know when your dumpster is emptied by your trash pickup provider so we can properly schedule you.

How much does it cost?

Every job is unique. Our services include power washing the inside and outside of the dumpster, surface washing the dumpster pad, and disinfecting and deodorizing the dumpster. Our price will be based off the size of the dumpster and associated pad/walkways, the desired service frequency, and any special circumstances such as types of waste or stains. Typical Quarterly Cleanings start at $200/service. Give us a call or fill out our get started form to get a quote!
