Liberty Hill Trash Pickup Changes: What Residents Need to Know
Starting October 1, 2026, trash collection is changing for many residents and businesses in Liberty Hill, Texas.
The City of Liberty Hill is transitioning its municipal solid waste service from Al Clawson Disposal to Waste Connections. If you live inside Liberty Hill city limits and receive service through the City’s solid waste arrangement, this change may affect your trash pickup day, recycling schedule, carts, and account setup.
At The Bin Spa, we service a large number of Liberty Hill customers, so we wanted to put together a quick explanation of what’s changing, who is likely to be affected, and what current trash bin cleaning customers should do to keep their service running smoothly.
What Is Changing With Liberty Hill Trash Pickup?
The City of Liberty Hill recently completed a competitive Request for Proposals process for solid waste collection. Following that process, the City awarded its new contract to Waste Connections, which will officially become the City’s solid waste provider beginning October 1, 2026.
For affected residential customers, Waste Connections will provide new trash and recycling carts. Customers will need to establish a new Waste Connections account because existing Al Clawson account information will not transfer automatically. The City has also advised customers to contact Al Clawson separately regarding the end of their current service and removal of existing carts.
Trash pickup days may also change. Waste Connections is finalizing routes, and each customer’s collection day will be provided during the account setup process. Recycling will continue on an every-other-week schedule.
Who Is Affected?
The biggest thing to understand is that having a Liberty Hill mailing address does not necessarily mean you live inside Liberty Hill city limits.
The City’s solid waste ordinance identifies Waste Connections as the provider serving municipal solid waste customers within the City of Liberty Hill. Many surrounding neighborhoods and properties use a Liberty Hill address but sit outside the incorporated city boundaries or receive certain utilities through other providers.
For example, the City’s utility information identifies communities such as Clearwater Ranch and Santa Rita among subdivisions that receive certain utility services through providers other than the City itself. Because boundaries and service arrangements can vary by individual property, residents should confirm their specific trash provider rather than assuming the change applies simply because their mailing address says Liberty Hill.
If you privately contract with your own trash company or your HOA/community has its own waste arrangement, the City’s provider change may not affect you.

What Does This Mean for Bin Spa Customers?
If your trash pickup schedule is not changing, there is nothing you need to do. We’ll continue servicing your bins on your existing Bin Spa schedule.
If Waste Connections gives you a new trash pickup day or recycling week, please let us know as soon as possible.
The Bin Spa performs professional trash bin cleaning after your trash has been collected, so knowing your correct pickup day is extremely important. We’ll update your account and align your cleaning with one of our Liberty Hill routes so your bins can be completely empty when our technician arrives.
If your recycling cart is also included in your Bin Spa service, please let us know which week recycling will be collected so we can align your cleaning schedule whenever possible.
A Quick Reminder for Liberty Hill Residents
If you are part of the City’s transition, the City recommends establishing your Waste Connections account as soon as possible. Your old Al Clawson account will not automatically transfer.
Waste Connections will provide your new collection day during setup, and customers should separately contact Al Clawson regarding ending their existing service, final billing, and removal of old carts.
Once you receive your new schedule, we recommend saving it somewhere easy to find and letting The Bin Spa know if anything changes.
